How to Workout from Home on the Cheap
It's easy to get a good workout from home with little or no exercise equipment. With many people's schedules being crammed from morning to night, it can be difficult finding time to get dressed in workout clothes, drive to the gym, exercise, and then shower and change back into clean clothes. Working out from home is a great alternative because it's as easy as getting out of bed and starting your routine.
Before you workout from home, have a snack about a half hour before you begin exercising. This snack should be full of carbohydrates to give your body the energy you need to keep you going from the beginning to the end. A bowl of oatmeal or an energy bar are good choices for a snack full of carbohydrates.
Stretching is an important part of your workout because it prevents injuries, so make sure to get a quick stretch to loosen up before your workout and then take some time to stretch for 15-20 seconds on each target muscle after your workout.
Having a treadmill or elliptical in your home is a convenient way of getting a cardio workout. You can find this equipment both new and used ranging from $50 to $5,000. However, you can also fit in a 20-30 minute cardio routine full of jumping jacks, jump rope, running in place, or dancing. If it's nice outside, speed-walk or jog around the block a couple times. Do what you can to get your heart rate going so you can begin building your endurance.
After your cardio workout, you'll want to get around 20 minutes of strength building Fitness in your routine. Some easy strength building moves that do not require equipment are sit-ups, crunches, push-ups, squats, lunges, and superman exercises. If you have dumbbells, you can add to the intensity of these workouts bringing weight to your chest for sit-ups, crunches, and squats — and bringing weight to your side for lunges.
Remember to stretch after your workout. In order to repair your muscles, make sure to eat high quality protein within a half hour of your workout. Some examples of high quality proteins consist of turkey breast, chicken breasts, or egg whites.
Now that you know how easy it can be, you can begin your workout from home and start enjoying the extra time (and money) you'll have now that you don't have to go to the gym.
